Distributing Kafka messages across multiple sites can involve some challenges. We present a way to replicate those messages directionally, securely, and easily between on-premise and cloud Kubernetes clusters. In addition to Kubernetes operators, we rely on Kafka Connect for this purpose.

Detecting mission-critical objects in sonar images is a challenging task. We present a solution for real-time object detection by an autonomously operating examination robot on the water. A cloud-based user platform allows advanced machine learning models based on state-of-the-art algorithms to be trained with user-specific data and run directly on an edge device on the robot.
